BerryVine Companion™

BerryVine Companion™ is the first generic geographical BlackBerry solution for the European market. With either a English or Dutch interface, this lightweight but powerful application finally enables European BlackBerry users to:

• View color maps of their current location, with full zoom and pan functionality
• Look up nearby points of interest (POI's), including tourist attractions and restaurants
• Calculate traveling routes with detailed step-by-step directions on how to get there and the possibility to view color maps of each step
• Use an optional NMEA compatible Bluetooth® GPS antenna for enhanced functionality, including navigational guidance by use of their GPS position

BerryVine Companion™'s navigational functionality works according to a lightweight navigational method called ‘Waypoint Based Navigation'. This means that when calculating a route and receiving information from the server, the device only receives important waypoints and their GPS coordinates. These waypoints are used by the software to guide the user towards his/her destination.

BerryVine Companion™ uses geographical information from BerryVine.com's partner Locatienet, providers of high-quality geographical services. Using Locatienet's data, BerryVine Companion™ currently supports the following regions:

• The BeNeLux
• The United Kingdom
• Most of western Europe
